When you register for a Babykins account, we collect personal information, which includes your name, email address and password.
If you connect to Babykins using credentials from a Third Party Application (e.g. Facebook), you authorize us to collect your authentication information (username, email, encrypted credentials). We may also collect your friends’ names specifically to identify if they are existing Babykins users so that you can post questions on baby development to them under our Ask the Village section.
In order to create a tracking profile for your baby, we also collect your kid’s name, age, gender and relation to you along, and other information you might choose to provide us with.
Once your account is created, you can review, update and change your personal information at any time.
We will not distribute your personal information to outside parties without your consent and will not rent or sell this information to anyone.
When you use Babykins to track your baby’s progress, we store this information in order to 1) sync this information across all devices you use to access the app, 2) provide you with benchmarking comparisons, 3) allow you to share relevant baby development data with other Babykins users when you choose to in our Ask the Village section.
Such information includes your little one’s growth data, all records that you input into Babykins, photos and videos that you input.
Benchmarking comparisons are provided on an aggregate level and never include personal information that is identifiable.
When you choose to share your baby’s data in our Ask the Village section, you can select the exact records you wish to post. When you post/comment in this section, we disclose your name, relation to baby, baby’s age and gender to provide context of post. Your baby’s name and profile picture, if any, will remain undisclosed. You can edit/delete posts at any time.
While we collect information about children from parents and primary caregivers (grandparents, nannies, babysitters), the Babykins App and Site are not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We will not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone under 13. Primary caregivers should obtain consent from baby’s parents before using Babykins.
Your mobile device
Babykins allows you to upload photos and videos to your records, which relies on the use of additional information on your mobile device. We will not access your camera or photos/videos without getting your explicit permission and we will not scan or import your camera roll or media library. If you grant us access to your camera or photos/videos, we will only store the photos/videos that you specifically choose to input. If you choose to, you can share your baby development photos/videos with other users in Ask the Village. Specifically for milestone records, photos and videos can also be shared to Facebook, Whatsapp and Twitter, again if you choose to do so.
We implement security measures to keep your information secure, such as password encryption. Please note that although we take reasonable steps to protect all information we process and maintain, no Internet transmission is completely secure or error-free. Do protect your password to prevent unauthorized use and sign out of your account after use if third parties have access to the device you are accessing your account from.
Other information collected
Like many site and app operators, we collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Site and use our App. This may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, browser type, browser version, mobile device type, the pages/screens of our Site/App that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages/screens and other statistics. Monitoring these statistics will help us to improve our product to suit your user needs.
If you would like to remove your account, you can do so at anytime. When we delete your account, all your identifiable data will be permanently removed from our servers and cannot be restored in future. We will, however, continue to store baby development benchmarking data anonymously. To request for account deletion, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
